Set Holiday and Bayram Hours Before the Day
A normal week does not describe bayram morning. A closed shutter under a green open dot writes the review for you.
Regular hours describe a regular week. Bayram, New Year's Day, 23 April, 19 May, 30 August, 29 October, and the neighbourhood fair are not a regular week. If the profile looks open and the shutter is down, the person on the pavement writes the review before you reopen. Special hours are for these days. A note pinned to the weekly schedule is not enough. People look at the green dot on the map. They do not always read the sentence in the description. Fix the mistake a few days before the holiday morning. The day you return needs the same care. A forgotten closed mark shows an open shop as shut.
1. Enter special hours a few days before the holiday, not on the holiday morning.
A bakery that is closed on the first day of bayram and open at noon on the second day must write those as two separate days. The usual Monday hours do not describe them. Hours entered early also tell the truth to a customer coming from another town.
2. Mark a closed day as closed, and write a half day with the real closing time.
Typing "we close early today" in the description, while the hours stay open, does not turn the green dot off. If you are open until noon, set the close to noon. If the phone is answered but nobody is at the door, say that in a short post and do not leave the dot open.
3. Change the hours on the website the same morning.
If the profile says closed and the site says open, the customer does not know which one to trust, and the one they trust will disappoint them. Write both with the same sentence. If the person who edits the site is not in the shop, give them the hours in writing before the holiday.
4. On the morning you return, remove the special closure and check the green dot from outside the door.
If the mark stays, an open shop looks closed and a regular goes to another bakery. Do the check from the street on your own phone, not from the back room. If the dot is not green, refresh the listing and look again after a minute.
5. Do not mark the business temporarily closed for a single Sunday.
That switch is for a closure that lasts weeks. One day needs special hours. An election day or a local fair is a special hour too, so do not hide it inside the weekly grid.
A bakery was closed on the first day of bayram and planned to open at noon on the second. The profile still showed an ordinary Monday. A family came for bread at nine and found the shutter down. The review described the wasted trip. The next bayram they wrote the two days separately. Closed on the first, open at noon on the second. They put the same two lines on the website. People who reached the door that bayram waited until noon because they had already seen the hour on the profile.
Pin a small note by the counter: the name of the next public holiday, and whether the door will be open. Fill the note four days before the holiday. When it is filled, update the profile and the website that same afternoon. If the note stays blank, the green dot tells a lie. On the day you return, cross the note out and remove the special hours. The job takes ten minutes. If you skip it, the price is a review.
