Publish the Page Before the Logo
The page can open before a logo is drawn. The shop name in plain type, one photo of the work, and the phone are enough. The logo replaces the type when it arrives.
A logo is not a condition for opening the page. The mistake is to wait months for a mark from a designer and to keep the page shut. In those months a welder explains the job on the phone, the photo stays in a drawer, and the person who searches sees an empty result. The fix is to put the name in plain type, the way it stands at the top of the invoice, and to publish one photo of the work and the phone the same day. You can open the page with Vitrin and try it for fifteen days, and what it costs after the trial is written on the Vitrin page. When the logo arrives it sits where the plain type was, and the address of the page does not change. A door does not stay shut because the sign is missing, and the page should not either.
1. Write the name as it is on the invoice
The workshop name at the top of the invoice is the name the customer already sees, and inventing a new mark is not this week's job. The mistake is to publish a template with no name. The fix is to put the name at the top in plain, readable type, a decorated box is not required, and when a person reads the name they know whose page they have reached.
2. One frame of the work does what a logo does
A weld bead, in daylight, filling the frame, says more than a mark. The mistake is to hold the page because there is no frame. The fix is to put the clearest frame you have, the empty logo space stays as a small line of type beside that frame, and if the frame is blurry you do not put it, but a clear bead comes before a logo.
3. Put the phone under the name
Even without a logo, the number to call should stand on the first screen, not in a footnote. The mistake is to hide the number until the designer arrives. The fix is to write the number from the card just under the name, and the button should say call, so work can come while the mark is waited for, and the number should match the card and the map.
4. When the logo arrives, do not change the address
When the mark is ready it replaces the plain type, and the link of the page stays the same. The mistake is to open a new address because of the logo, because the old link then goes empty. The fix is to swap the type for the image on the same page, the colours stay calm, and if the mark is a shouting box it is made smaller, and the frame of the work stays where it is.
5. Do not wait months for the drawing
A good mark can take a few weeks, and the page does not have to spend that time empty. The mistake is not to publish while you argue over a sketch. The fix is to open with plain type and to let the drawing proceed apart, during the fifteen-day trial the phone and the photo stand, what it costs is written on the Vitrin page, and when the drawing is finished it takes the place of the type, and the work is not interrupted.
A concrete opening can stand like this. At the top the workshop name from the invoice stands in plain type. Under it are the phone and a call button. Beside it a weld bead is visible in daylight. The logo box is empty and the page is still open. When the mark arrives it sits in the same place instead of the type, and the address does not change. The person who searches sees the work and the number without waiting for a sign.
