Put the Holiday Closure on the Site and the Profile

Write the closed days in the same dates on the site, on the WhatsApp status, and on the business profile. Add the day you reopen.

On the morning of the holiday the shop is shut, and the site still says open every day. A person sets out, sees the shutter down, and gets cross. The crossness lands on the missing date, not on the holiday. A closure notice should be the same in three places: where the site is first looked at, on the WhatsApp status, and in the hours of the business profile. If one is right and two are old, the customer reads the one that suits them, not the true one. A closure with no date looks like an vague pause and collects orders.

1. Write two dates, one word is not enough

"We are closed" is not enough. The last working day and the first open day sit side by side. It can stand like this: we are open until Wednesday evening, closed Thursday and Friday, open Saturday morning. Do not leave the weekday alone. Write the day of the month as well. A holiday shifts each year, so last year's sentence is a lie this year. If you work a half day, write the hour too: Wednesday until noon. A person who arrives in the afternoon will not count as having seen the morning explanation. If you take no urgent work, say that in the same sentence. If you do, limit who looks and which job you accept. An unlimited emergency cancels the holiday.

2. Put it where the site is first seen

The notice sits at the top of the home page, not at the bottom of a journal. A person does not open the menu and hunt for an about page. Two lines on the first screen are enough. The hours on the contact page should show the same dates. If the old hour table remains, it contradicts the notice. If an order form is open, put the same sentence above the form. If the form keeps collecting orders on a closed day, your return starts under a hill of messages. If you cannot close the form, the automatic reply should name the day you will read them. You do not have to hide the catalogue. It is enough to write above it that orders will be prepared on the opening day.

3. Profile and status should name the same date

The hours on the business profile should show the closed days as closed. Put the holiday span in the special-hours field. If the profile says open and the site says closed, a person who came from the map walks for nothing. The WhatsApp status stays short: we are closed on these dates, we will read messages on the day we return. A status is not a letter. Change the greeting for these days as well. If the old greeting still says you are free today, it argues with the status. On the morning you return, delete the status, put the greeting back to the ordinary work sentence, and set the profile hours to normal. If you forget all three, the closure lives another week.

4. Say the last working day in advance

Two days before the closure, write the last hour you will take an order. A job that is wanted for the holiday morning is not accepted on Wednesday afternoon. Add that beside the closure sentence. On goods that travel, the carrier may stop as well. If you know the carrier will stop, move the delivery promise to after the holiday. A promise to deliver during the closure puts a delay you do not control onto your own back. Check appointments already taken, one by one. If an hour falls on a closed day, call before the closure and offer a new hour. Do not wait for the person to notice it on their own calendar. If you wrote it, you correct it.

5. Take the notice down on the morning you open

On the opening day, the first job is to take the notice down. A "we are closed" line sitting over an open shop makes a person hesitate and leave without writing. Look at the piled messages the same morning. A long answer to each is not required. A short round for the date and whether you can do it is enough. If something broke during the holiday, say that on its own. Do not bury it inside the general notice. Write next holiday's sentence aside. Remembering from zero each holiday makes you skip a place. Three places at once: the site, the status, the profile. If one is missing, the notice is only half there.

Two days before the next closure, open the three places side by side. See whether the dates match. See whether the return day is written. Finish the missing place that evening. Writing the explanation on the holiday morning does not catch a person who has already set out.
