Do not leave the free trial empty

Fifteen days pass whether the page is full or empty. If the name, one service, one photo, and a way to reach you are not there on day one, the trial teaches you nothing.

A free trial is not opening an empty box. Fifteen days move on the calendar by themselves. If you put nothing on the page, you still hold an empty box when the time ends. If the box is full, a stranger can open the page and recognise the shop. Recognition is the real measure of the trial. The price stays on the Vitrin page, not in this one. Your job is to fill the time.

1. Fifteen days pass whether the page is filled or not

The time does not wait until you are ready. If you do not put a line on the first day, you still have not put one on the tenth, because the counter gets in the way. Opening the trial as "when I have time" leaves the period on a shelf. On the day you open it, make a small list. The name, one service, one photo, one way to reach you. Without these four, the page does not exist for a customer. With them, the rest is added inside the week. Fifteen days is short for building a full catalogue, and enough for trying these four.

2. On day one, put the name, one service, one photo, and the way to reach you

Write the name from the sign in the heading. Describe the service people ask for most, in one sentence. Add one photo of the counter or of the last job. Leave the way to call or write visible. Let the district sit on the first screen too. Do not open a second page before these are done. A second page does nothing while the first is empty. Ask someone you know to open the page. Do they see the name, do they understand what you do, do they know how to reach you. If they cannot say yes to all three, the trial has not started yet.

3. A blank trial teaches you nothing about a real visitor

Nobody writes a question on an empty page. Reading the lack of questions as "there is no work" misleads you. There is no work because the door is not visible. On a filled page, few people may come in the first week too. That is a measure. You see which sentence was read and where they stopped. On an empty page there is no stop to see. To say "I did not like it" at the end of the trial, you first have to put something that can be liked. What can be liked is your shop. A template sentence does not stand in for the shop.

4. Build the page, and leave the price on the Vitrin page

The place to build it is Vitrin. The fifteen-day trial opens there. What it costs is written on that page. Do not discuss a figure here. What is worth discussing is whether you filled the time. Before the trial ends, show the page to a stranger. If the person you showed it to recognises the shop, the time did its job. If they do not, add the missing line before the time ends. If you have no time left to add it, the decision stays incomplete too.

5. At the end, look at a page a stranger could use

The decision is not whether the panel looks handsome. The decision is whether a person on the street can reach you with this page. If they can, the trial has left you a working door. If they cannot, stretching the time does not fill an empty page. Build the door first. If the name, the service, the photo, and the way to reach you are in place, keeping those four current next month is easier. Keeping them current starts the day after the trial. The trial is not a finish line. It is the first Tuesday.
